Yippppiiieeeeeeeeeeeeeee
It's time I tell you guys what I have been doing for the past 4 months. I have learnt so much at the academy, and yet there is so much more to learn!
Our training began with introduction to 35mm photography, which included modules on exposure, shutter speeds, and depth. We also had a creative module on shooting alphabets out of normal objects in our surroundings.
Our next module was on light, lighting and filters. Here we learnt how direction, colour and quality of light affects the subject and the photograph. We learnt about different types of contrasts. We also learnt how to use the gradient filters and polarizers.
After the basics of light, our second module on light was more about using the flash unit with our cameras. We learnt how to effectively use the flash unit to light up the subjects in different light conditions, like fill flash on a bright sunny day, using flash as a key light in low light conditions, balancing exposure on the subject in shadow and the ambient light outside the shadow area. We also learned how to use the flash units to create effects like halos, rims, etc.
After our light module, came the session on creativity. Here we were required to complete several different asignments using all the techniques we had learnt earlier. We were asked to submit series of photographs taken from a constrained place, and taken during a whole day. We were also asked to take photographs taken from different angles of view, and using different concepts.
Now, finally we have entered our studio module, and we are learning how to use studio equipment to achieve the same light effects as possible in daylight.
I will tell you guys about this module, once we get done with a substantial portion of it.
seeya later guys.
